BMW MINI HULL

Pendragon BMW MINI Hull completes and opens its doors to the public. The project is sited on Citadel Way and as the name suggests it sits within an important historical district of the city with the new building located close to the old, fortified walls and castle. The new buildings position within the site was carefully considered in order to avoid the original structures which had been demolished by the Hull Dock Company in 1864.

A series of archaeological excavations from 1969, however, have shown that the demolition work was far from complete. Substantial and well-preserved stone and brick structural remains still survive in situ, together with evidence of the earthwork ramparts. Because of this the project was subject to close archaeological scrutiny throughout the construction works.

The new showroom includes both BMW and MINI. These are linked internally which allows the customer to move easily between both brands. To the rear of the new building is a car deck which maximises building volume on the site. This houses new car stock.

As the old buildings were to be demolished a new aftersales building is located to the rear of the site in what was an existing building. This is now fully in line with BMW UK specification.
