MDG were appointed by Faithful and Gould do develop proposals for the long-term refurbishment of one of the existing wings at the Establishment. Kent wing has suffered from lack of investment and maintenance over the years which has led to the deterioration of the existing internal facilities and structure.
A phased solution was chosen to remedy the issues with only a partial decant of the cells internally. A temporary shower block was to be constructed which enabled the refurbishment of the existing wing showers which is to be followed by windows, cell door and cell refurbishment works.
MDG acted as designers and technical assessors once the project had been awarded to ISG.
